Saudi Arabia bans airspace for Israel

Saudi Arabian airspace has been banned for Israeli aircraft. Suddenly, Saudi Arabia took this decision last Tuesday. However, the country did not say why the ban was imposed. Earlier last year, Israel normalized relations with the United Arab Emirates. In November of that year, Saudi Arabia allowed Israel to use the airspace.

Turkish media outlet Anadolu quoted Israeli media as saying on Wednesday.

The flight from Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport to the UAE was canceled due to Saudi Arabia's refusal to use its airspace, the report said.

Saudi skies are an important route for flights between Israel and the United Arab Emirates. If another route is chosen instead of Saudi Arabia, it takes more than eight hours to reach Dubai from Israel instead of three hours. This will increase the cost of operating flights between the UAE and Israel.
