Neighboring Qatar has sent two batches of drugs to Iran for the treatment of various complex diseases.
Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian confirmed the matter on Sunday. He said the drugs arrived in Iran from Qatar in two phases on Saturday night and Sunday morning.
According to IRNA, the Iranian energy minister is currently on a visit to Qatar. He is visiting Iran to boost economic ties with the country.
Ardakanian said it was a continuation of Qatar's cooperation with Iran on such rare drugs at various times. The drugs arrived in Tehran as part of deepening ties between Iran and Qatar.
Iran became a friend of Qatar when it struggled to procure the drugs due to US sanctions.
Former US President Donald Trump pulled his country out of the nuclear deal in 2016 and imposed a number of sanctions on Iran. Since then, Iran has not been able to buy important drugs from the international market.
