IS bombing of two oil wells in Iraq

IS militants bombed two oil wells near the northern city of Kirkuk on Wednesday. At that time, IS terrorists also attacked a nearby security post. One policeman was killed and others three were injured in the blast.

After the bombing, the oil well caught fire in the area. However, some Iraqi sources said the bombing did not affect the Bai Hassan oil field. Fires near oil wells can be quickly brought under control before major disruptions in oil production occur.

Keeping the police busy attacking the security check post, the terrorists entered as planned and bombed the oil field. Oil extraction at both wells has been suspended since the bombing.
